About
I did not come up with the name Come.Sit.Be.
It found me.
It was 1998. I was in my late 30s, still on active duty with the U.S. Army, and carrying a weight I had grown so accustomed to that I had stopped noticing how heavy the burden had become. A lifetime of searching — for stillness, for peace, for some quiet place inside myself I could not quite reach.
One afternoon while driving home, something inexplicably pulled me off my usual route. I still cannot explain it. I turned into a cemetery I had passed a hundred times and never entered. Something guided me — where to stop, where to walk, which row to follow. I did not question it.
A few rows in, I stopped.
In front of me was a granite bench — a grave marker — and carved into the stone were three words:
COME. SIT. BE.
I sat down.
And for the first time in longer than I could remember, everything went quiet. Not silent — quiet. A gentle, certain kind of calm that said: you are going to be alright.
It has taken me more than twenty-five years to do something with that moment and to trust it enough to share. This brand is my attempt to pass it forward — to put those three words in front of someone who might need them the way I did that afternoon.
You do not have to be in a cemetery to find stillness. Sometimes it finds you in a t-shirt. On a sign above your door. In a quiet moment you did not expect — like mine on a granite bench at a cemetery.
Come. Sit. Be.
That is all it has ever asked.
